How to Deal With Pain When Standing or Sitting in a Chair

Welcome to your 90-second Health Tip. In this video, we give you some tips and tricks to relieving pain when getting up or sitting down in a chair.

Many people complain about knee pain, hip pain or back pain when they stand up from a chair or when they sit down in a chair. The way to relieve this pain is to squeeze your gluts or buttocks muscles when you stand up or sit down. Don’t push off with your hands or drive your knees together, as this will only make the pain worse. Practice this exercise to train your body to repeat this motion, and it will help take away a lot of the pain you may be experiencing.
